Press Conference Dude

A friend first told me about a guy that ambushed a press conference with Paris Hilton’s lawyer and said that it put him in tears with laughter.

Today he called and said the guy is on the news at the OJ Simpson press conference with the lawyers. I flipped on the news stations and immediatly laughed and watched in pure amazement and somewhat envious of the idea and jester one man was taking to ambush the questions and steal the serious tone away.

So with that, and knowing nothing of this person, his name, story, or if he was associated with any other media that was there to cover the story, I decided that setting up a blog that could track him when he did make an appearance would be a great way to fan the flame.

I want this flame to burn for a long time so that the mainstream media will start to realize that bogus celebrity hijinks and the resources and time spent on them are for the benefit of no one. When taken into perspective the people involved in ‘getting the story’ are eating up productive time that could be used on more enlightening stories.

Upon further research I discovered that the guy I dubbed “press conference dude” did have a name, Jake Byrd. Apparently he has been doing these pieces on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. Serves me right for spending more time on other things and not basking in the creatively original Jimmy Kimmel Show and their side show pieces. The Man Show was the best.

So with that basic summary and purpose of this blog I will try my best to post videos of recent press conferences that get ambushed by ‘the press conference dude’, and hope to have a great site where people can keep track.
